Abstract

Pembelajaran STEAM berperan penting dalam pendidikan abad 21. Guru sebagai salah satu aspek kunci dari implementasi pendidikan memegang peran penting dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran STEAM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplor implementasi pembelajaran STEAM di sekolah dasar dan tantangan apa saja yang dihadapi guru sekolah dasar dalam implementasi STEAM. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan metode survei.  Sebanyak 32 guru sekolah dasar daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten menjadi partisipan dalam penelitian ini. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket mengenai implementasi pembelajaran STEAM  dan tantangan pembelajaran STEAM. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa guru telah mengimplementasikan pembelajaran STEAM dengan mempraktikkan pembelajaran yang berpusat kepada peserta didik, pembelajaran dengan model inkuiri dan berbasis masalah, evaluasi, refleksi, kolaborasi, serta melaksanakan pembelajaran yang terintegrasi baik secara konten maupun keterampilan. Adapun tantangan yang diungkapkan guru dalam implementasi pembelajaran STEAM  adalah tantangan pedagogik, teknis, fasilitas, sumber pembelajaran STEAM  dan waktu pelaksanaan STEAM.  Dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru telah melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang mengarah pada pembelajaran STEAM. Akan tetapi, perlu diadakan pelatihan teknis untuk guru berkaitan dengan teknis implementasi STEAM dan penyediaan fasilitas penunjang terutama fasilitas berbasis teknologi untuk mendukung implementasi STEAM di sekolah dasar.
